Australian Sheoak is the common name for the tree Allocasusrina fraseriana.  The Sheoak originates from the coastal region of southwestern Australia.  It is prized for its rich color and especially for its prominent rays which give it a distinctive pattern.  Sheoak was once used prevalently in Australia for beer barrels and because of that the word “sheoak” is a slang word for beer.
