African Blackwood
This writing instrument is constructed using wood from the tree Dalbergia melanoxylon and is commonly called African Blackwood. A true Rosewood, it is native to Africa. It is most highly prized to make woodwind instruments such as clarinets, oboes, and bagpipes. Ancient Egyptians also used it as a furniture wood.
